Cultural Vacation
In the Middle Ages, the city was the seat of the Counts of Görz, who cleared the valley and built many castles and palaces, some of which have been preserved to this day, such as Bruck Castle above Lienz.
A cultural and historical tour through the sunny city is worthwhile - castles, churches and museums tell the history of the city and make Lienz a cultural treasure chest.
Traditions and customs are also cultivated in East Tyrol. The traditional highlight of the summer is the Lienz Old Town Festival, where you can marvel at regional handicrafts, authentic costumes, traditional dances and culinary delicacies.
