Glide over Fascinating Alp Roads
East Tyrol is unique as a starting point and holiday destination for real pleasure drivers. Panorama roads such as the Pustertaler Höhenstraße with numerous sights, mountain roads to the Glockner village of Kals or to the rear Virgental, the nearby Dolomite roads around Cortina and the well-known excursion roads such as the Großglockner High Alpine Road or the Nockalm Road in neighboring Carinthia are perfectly accessible from here. Experiences in nature in the Hohe Tauern National Park, the hospitality of the residents, several excellent restaurants with local delicacies or the noticeable influences of the nearby Mediterranean cuisine make hearts beat faster.
Natural beauty and cultural facilities are brought into harmony here like nowhere else. Through the gateway to the south - the Felbertauern tunnel - you reach East Tyrol. From Huben towards the north it goes to the mountaineering village of Kals am Großglockner. At the foot of Austria's highest mountain you can really enjoy the untouched flora and fauna. A visit to the Glockner Museum is highly recommended. The Kalser Glocknerstraße takes you into the picturesque Ködnitztal, which is one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in Tyrol. You will remember the view of the 3,798 meter high Grossglockner for a long time.
