 About the chef

Short life story of the talented master chef Christian Flaschberger: born in Villach January 24, 1971, still at the dawn of his youth, he cried in a solemn voice, “Here I am, I want to cook, give me fire, water and fresh quality products”. His motto: … first comes food, then morals (free quote from Bertolt Brecht).

Great importance is given to a short chain market, typical regional and seasonal products, as well as the most recent knowledge on modern nutrition.

The culinary art of Christian Flaschberger strays from light cuisine of the Dolomites ranging from Karawendel Adriatic, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia to the Engadine. Its purpose is to fully enhance the products, colours and flavours of these regions. The well-stocked cellar of the Grand Hotel offers the perfect wine combination for the most demanding palates.
